HOW YOU CAN BE A SUPPORTING MEMBER

Your support of River Cities Concerts Association with your membership purchase is one of the things that make this series possible. However, you can contribute in other ways. Here are some ways you can help us enhance the quality of life here in the River Cities area:

Youth Concert:

We are looking for people to help with the annual youth concert. The job would include:

  • Contacting people at area school districts.
  • Sending information about the concert to the districts.
  • Help seating and supervising for the day of the concert.

This is your opportunity to help with a program that is nurturing the enjoyment of live performances for youth.

Hospitality Assistant: Our artists show up sometimes only a few hours before the performance, having traveled possibly several hundred miles. They set up, then do the performance and either travel on or stay in an area motel. We help them give us their best by providing snacks and beverages prior to the performance. You can help bring goodies to the backstage area at load-in and make sure the artists have what they need in the way of directions and information. You also have an opportunity to perhaps meet the artists and see some of the backstage happenings. You do not pay for the food, just pick it up and bring it to the stage entrance at the proper time.

Contact Assistant: We need RCCA members willing to make up to a dozen phone calls to their friends, neighbors or current members to arrange for membership renewals. It is a great time to tell someone else about what you are enjoying or to remember the excitement of past performances. Remember, there are other people just like you that would be glad to be a part of this association and enjoy the kinds of performances that we have presented through the years.

Stage Hand: Generally, our stage crew needs are met through arrangements with the backstage tech director, Lee Bunting. Occasionally, there is the need for extra assistance – in either loading/unloading heavy or bulky items or perhaps arranging for costume cleaning/laundry or ironing. We would like to have a list of people who would welcome a call in the event of such a need.

Marketing/Publicity/Selection of Artists: We need help putting up posters, contacting media and thinking of other ways to engage RCCA members. We are especially looking for someone to distribute posters and brochures in Peshtigo, Stephenson, Oconto, Coleman, Crivitz and Wausaukee.

The opportunity is also open for RCCA members to attend our annual fall artist selection marathon for the following season.

Remember, River Cities Concerts Association is YOUR association. WE select the performers, pay them in advance and make all the arrangements. We are a performing arts association. As with any association, many hands make light work. Thanks so much for your participation and contribution. If you are interested in any of these areas, please leave your name at the registration table in the lobby or contact Ann Buscher or Keith Akins.
